Hot cross buns

Yes I know, its not Easter. 😞  But who doesn't like a Hot Cross Bun? I made these at Easter and they were absolutely mouth watering!
So here is the recipe specially for you. 👉👈👇👆

Ingredients

-500g Strong White Bread Flour
-Easy bake yeast (1tbsp)
-275ml Whole milk
-50gUnsalted Butter
-1 free range, beaten egg
- Golden caster sugar
-1.5tsp salt
-2tsp mixed spice
-75g sultanas
-tbsp water
-50g mixed peel
-100g plain white flour
-Apricot jam

1) Boil the milk. Now, remove it from the heat. Don't forget, to add the butter. Leave it to cool until you can touch it without being burnt.

2) Add, the flour, yeast, sugar and salt into a mixing bowl. Mix in the milk, the beaten egg and the butter with the dry ingredients.

3) Tip, all the dough onto a lightly floured surface. Knead for 10mins.

4) Grease the mixing bowl with some olive oil. Make sure, it doesn't over grease. Place the dough into the mixing bowl. Keep the bowl covered with a clean tea towel. Leave it for 2 hours.

5) Once that is done, put the mixed spice and the sultanas on the dough. Cut, the dough into 12 equal slices. Roll each slice into a ball and arrange them onto a greased baking tray.

6) Prove, until doubled in size and cover with clean tea towel. Preheat the oven to 200℃ (gas mark 6

7) Mix, the water and plain flour together until it is a smooth paste. Create a cross using this paste on the slices of dough.

8) Put, it into the oven for 12-15 mins.

9) Using a pastry brush, brush the apricot jam all over the top of the hot cross bun.

10) Eat, and Enjoy!
